I've "rescued" a group of four photographs belonging to the BRADBURY Family
including the following:
1 - Caleb BRADBURY, taken at the Black & Case
Studio in Boston, MA and dated 31 Dec 1864 with Caleb appearing to be in his
50's or 60's at the time it was taken (civil war tax stamp on back)

Jessie BRADBURY, taken at the C. W. Calohan Studio in Gallipolis, OH, 1880's,
girl about 9 years old
3 - Julia BRADBURY of Boston, taken at the A. N
Hardy Studio in Boston, MA, 1880's, woman in her 20's or 30's
4 - Em
BRADBURY, taken at the W. R. Curtis Studio in Pomeroy, OH, 1880's, young lady in
her teens
Based on limited research I was able to locate the following
information regarding these BRADBURY Family member:
Caleb BRADBURY was b.
10 Jan 1801 in Limerick, ME to parents Joseph BRADBURY (1773-1828) and Elizabeth
“Betsy” or “Betsey” STEVENS (1776-1838) who were married 2 Dec 1799 in Limerick,
ME. Caleb was one of 10 children born to this couple including, Caleb; Ammi R.
C.; Mary Stevens; Asa; Joseph P.; Judge Samuel; Phebe; Nancy; Sarah; and Moses
Russell BRADBURY, all born between 1801 and 1818. Caleb married Almira Elizabeth
BROWN (1805-1879). Caleb died 4 Feb 1879 in Cambridge, MA.
Jessie
BRADBURY was b. 6 Jun 1868 in Kyger, OH to parents Elijah Strong BRADBURY
(1840-1880) of Ohio and Adaline HARDING (1836-1870) who were married 11 Sept
1867. The couple was said to have three children Jesse; Jessie; and Strong
BRADBURY. Jessie married Edgar Eugene GATEWOOD (1866-1957) on 4 Nov 1891 in
Cuyahoga Co., OH and they had five children including, John Edgar; Joseph
Strong; Edgar E.; Adeline; and Frederick Bradbury GATEWOOD, all born between
1893 and 1912. Jessie died 18 Nov 1960 in Tucson, AZ and she is buried in the
Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucson.
Julia Maria BRADBURY was b.
21 Oct 1840 in Cambridge, ME to Caleb BRADBURY (1801-1879) and Almira Elisabeth
BROWN (1805-1879). Julia was one of 8 children born to this couple including,
Elizabeth Almira; Juliette; Caleb Brown; Horace Dennison; Julia Maria; George
Robert; Frederick Thomas; and Mary Emma BRADBURY, all born between 1829 and
1856. Julia married William Henry CARPENTER (1837-1914) and Julia died 6 Jan
1881 in Boston, MA.
Emma L. WOODS was b. 2 Feb 1853 and married Joseph P.
BRADBURY (1838-1915) in 1883 and she died 19 Feb 1918 and is buried in the Beech
Grove Cemetery in Pomeroy, OH.
I am hoping to locate someone from the
family so that this wonderful group of photographs can be returned to the care

I've rescued an old photograph of Clarence Edwin MATTESON
which was taken at the J. T. Syftestad Studio in Appleton, MN. Clarence is
identified as 3 1/2 months old at the time the photograph was taken sometime in
the early 1890's. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following
information regarding Clarence and his family:
Clarence Edwin MATTESON
was b. 6 Feb 1891 in Appleton, MN to parents Elbridge Horatio MATTESON
(1853-1938) and Aldie L. AVERY (1859-1897). Clarence was one of two children
born this couple, a sister was born and died in 1879. Clarence was married more
than once. He married Harriet ROBINSON in Park Ridge, IL on 2 Oct 1917 and she
died in 1922. Clarence then married for a second time on 10 Jun 1924 in Maricopa
Co. AZ to Alice Fern or Ferne BUZAN. Clarence and Alice had a son Gordon Avery
MATTESON b. 2 Nov 1925 in Tucson, AZ along with two other children including a
son Richard Buzan MATTESON (1931-1992) and a daughter.
Clarence was a
Dentist and he died 4 Mar 1974 in Tucson, AZ and is buried in the Evergreen
Memorial Park Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. His obituary lists his surviving family
including wife Alice B. MATTESON of Tucson, AZ; Dr. Gordon A. MATTESON of
Pinetop, AZ; Richard B. MATTESON of Tucson, AZ; and a daughter Jean REINOEHL of
Phoenix, AZ.
