- The Great Arizona Orphan Abduction by Linda Gordon. A tale of race, religion and lawlessness in turn of the century southern Arizona. In 1904 New York Catholic nuns brought 40 Irish orphans to remote Arizona mining camps in Clifton and Morenci, to be placed with Catholic families which were Mexican. Read the story of how the town's mostly non-Catholic Anglos kidnapped these children.
- The Copper Era Newspaper in Clifton is printed by the Eastern Arizona Courier. They are said to have what's left of the records before the big flood of 1983. - The Greenlee County Historical Society (GCHS Facebook link) has a wonderful museum and gift shop at 315 Chase Creek, Clifton. The have a great deal of books for sale, chronicling the early days of Arizona. They have a well-stocked library and archives that is open to the public by appointment.
