Tempe - Frank Subia, 77, a Borden Dairy herdsman, died Feb. 3, 1982. Mr. Subia was born in Clifton and lived in Arizona all his life. Survivors include his children, Josephine Valles, Inez Vargas, Paz Taylor, Ramona, Rita, Delgadina of Minnesota, Guadalupe, Ernie, Blas and Arturo; a brother, David Parra, Prescott; several brothers and sisters out of state; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. SUITER, Charles Halford
Charles Halford Suiter, 92, who retired as a bank examiner in Iowa, moved to Arizona 33 years ago and retired in 1947 as a miner in Tombstone, died Oct. 26, 1979, in Maryvale Hospital. Mr. Suiter had been president of the Iowa-Kansas Development Co., was a building contractor and real estate broker in California. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Shrine in Davenport, Iowa. Surviving are his wife, Anna; children, Lila and Charles, Jr.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. 19 August 1916 - 31 July 1994 Sylvia M. Suiter, 77, of Phoenix, died July 31, 1994. She was born in Missouri and was a baker manager. Sister, Ruth Clark and brother, Ray Bolinger and numerous nieces and nephews survive. August 3, 1994.

Cottonwood - Dorothy Sulier, 71, a librarian for Cottonwood Library, died Nov. 23, 1982, in Cottonwood. Mrs. Sulier was born in Montana and moved to Cottonwood 10 years ago. She was a member of the Cottonwood Library Board. Wood Drive, died of cancer Friday, Aug. 25, 1967, in Lackland AFB Hospital in San Antonio. She was born in Kaohsiung, Formosa. SULLIVAN, Daniel James
Daniel James Sullivan, 66, died Thurs., Sep. 21, 1967, in a Phoenix nursing home. He was born in Muscotah, Kansas, and moved to Tucson in 1942. He came to Phoenix four years ago when he retired from the Southern Pacific. He had been employed by Safeway Stores and was a member of Lodge 642 Railroad Board. Survivors include a son, James, and a daughter, Mrs. Patricia STANLEY, both of Dodge City, KS; two sisters, Mrs. Helen LAUER of Phoenix and Mrs. Mary FITZMAURICE of Tempe; and seven grandchildren. Margaret E. Sullivan, 81, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away September 12, 2004. Graduated from North Arlington High School in 1941. She also graduated from Pace College N. Y. in 1948. She was active in Girl Scouts U. S. A. She started Girl Scout troops in Japan, Korea, England, and Germany. She was very active in the Arizona Cactus Pine Girl Scouts. Margaret was an Elder in the Presbyterian Church and past president of the Paradise Valley Womans Club. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Margaret Hannan. Cypress, was born in Iowa and moved to Arizona in 1946 from LaPorte, Iowa. Her husband, the Rev. Ralph Supplee of Phoenix, was pastor of the St. Paul's Methodist Church for seven years. Mrs. Supplee was active in all phases of church work, was a life member of the Parent-Teachers Association and a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College. LaVerne O. Sveum, age 71, entered into rest on September 10, 2003. LaVerne is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Sveum, his two daughters, Debbie Mauldin and Diana Sorrell, his grandchildren, Geoffrey Mauldin, Shawna Sorrell, and Jeremy Sorrell. Also survived by his two brothers, Laurel Sveum and Loran Sveum. LaVerne proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a salesman in the grocery business all his life, be retired from Kraft Foods after over 15 years of service. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. He enlisted in the Marines in 1963 and served in Vietnam where he received the Navy Commendation Medal and was authorized to wear the "V" for valor. He had been out of the Marines a year. He moved to Phoenix in 1945 from his native Sheldon, Iowa. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Swenning; five sisters, Tracy, Mary and Megan Swenning, all of Phoenix, Shannon and Kelli Swenning, both of San Diego; and grandparents, L. A. San Tan, was born in Albany, N. Y., and moved to Goodyear in 1954 from California. He lived in Chandler for 12 years.
