Paradise Valley - Adele W. Sidles, 60, who had been a
state women's golf champion in both Colorado and Nebraska, died Thurs., Dec. 10,
1970, in her home at 123 Mtn Shadows. Mrs. Sidles moved here eight years ago
from Lincoln, NE. She had missed only three home games of the Phoenix
Roadrunners in which he son-in-law, L.G. Hooker, Jr., is a major stockholder.
Mrs. Sidles was a life master in duplicate bridge and a member of the Junior
League. She was born in Fort Collins, CO, and graduated from the University of
Colorado at Boulder where she majored in art and was a member of Delta Gamma
Sorority. She was the widow of Fred S. Sidles who died in 1954. Survivors
include her mother, Mrs. George B. Wells of Fort Collins; a daughter, Mrs.
Sharon Hooker; and two grandchildren, all of Phoenix; and a stepson, Fred M.

Margaret "Peggy" Irene Jackman Sill, 82 of Mesa,
Arizona passed away September 18, 2004. She was born August 16, 1922 in Portola,
California. She moved with her family to Phoenix, Arizona in 1924 attended
school and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She later earned her degree
from the Arizona State Teachers College in 1944. Peggy was a teacher and a life
member of the Maricopa Lapidary Society of Phoenix. In 1948 she married the love
of her live Lenord Sill of Burdick, KS. They did not have children but have been
married for 56 years. Services will be held at Melchers Mortuary Mission Chapel,

SISSON, Lynne T.
Lynne T. Sisson, was born and grew up in New York
City. She and Bob were married in 1955 and lived in Ithaca, NY, Cincinnati, St.
Louis and Phoenix following Bob's work. Lynne obtained a bachelors degree at
State University of New York, a masters degree and doctoral studies at ASU. She
became Special Ed. Director in Maricopa. She later was an elementary principal
in Superior and an elementary principal and Special Ed. teacher in the Deer
Valley School system. Lynne retired in 1995 and became very active in the
American Association of University Women and the Democratic Party. She ran for
the legislature and also headed the Disabilities Caucus for the Democratic
Party. Lynne was a role model, willing to help anyone anytime. Lynne passed away
on February 4, 2007, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 76. She will be
remembered for her kindness, smile, positive attitude and congenial
conversations. She is survived by her husband Bob, son Christopher, his wife
Lynette, a daughter Miriam, grandsons Scott and Brandon and her sister, Nora
Lee. A Memorial Service was held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N. Central
Ave. in Phoenix.

SLEDDEN, Caroline
Caroline Puszynski Sledden,
98, died August 26, 2004 at her care home in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was
born to Mateus and Bronislawa (Ryn-iewicz) Puszynski on February 2, 1906 in
Brooklyn, New York. Growing up in Brooklyn, Caroline was very active in sports
and celebrated her Polish heritage through activities with the Polish Falcons
athletic organization and by working at the local Polish newspaper, Novy Swiat.
It was during her participation in these activities that Caroline met the love
of her life, Felix Edward Sledden. They were married on September 10, 1929.
During the many years they lived in Brooklyn, Caroline worked as a bookkeeper in
the retail industry. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing the
piano and singing. Upon retirement, she and Felix relocated to Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida. After the death of her husband in 1973, Caroline travelled to Texas to
be with her son and his family. They all moved to Phoenix in the late 1980's
where she joined Most Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. The start of the new
millennium in 2000 then found the family in the Prescott area. Caroline is
survived by her son, Dr. Richard Sledden, and his wife Angela of Humboldt, and
granddaughters, Elizabeth Sledden Dybell and Mary Theresa Sledden. She was
preceded in death by her husband Felix, her brothers Vincent and Joseph, and her
sisters Jeannette and Bernice. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM
Saturday, October 2, 2004 at St. Germaine's Catholic Church, 7997 E. Dana Dr.,
Prescott Valley with Rev. John Shetler presiding. The family suggests

Slee, 235 W. Southern St., Mesa, moved to Mesa last month after living seven
years in Phoenix. Survivors include her son, Frederick G. Meldrum Mortuary,

SLEVIN, James William

Slevin, 71, a real estate developer, died Dec. 1, 1982. He was employed by
Goodyear Corp. when he first moved to Arizona from Ohio in 1959. Survived by
wife, Maxine; daughter, Maureen; sons, Stephen and granddaughter Stacey at home
in Phoenix, and Michael, daughter Maureen; and 10 grandchildren in Wadsworth,
OH; two sisters, Edith Stuchul of Cleveland, OH, and Mary Ellen Brown and
grandson Rusty of Phoenix; a brother, Harry, of Terre Haute, IN. Memorial
service was at Northwest Community Church, 16615 N. 43rd Ave.

SLINKER, Glenn Burton
Glenn Burton Slinker, 72, a retired carpenter,
died Mon., May 15, 1967, in Phoenix VA Hospital. He was was born in Golden City,
Missouri, and came to Phoenixin 1936 from Kansas. He was a member of Carpenters
Local 1089 and an Army veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife,
Hulda; three daughters, Mrs. Cheri PARKS, Mrs. Patricia STEVENS and Shelia
SLINKER, all of Phoenix; two sons, John of Leon, IA, and David of Phoenix.
Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. 5/16/1967.
SLOAN, Robert D.
Graveside services
were in Greenwood Memorial Park for Robert D. Sloan, 56, of Glendale. The Rev.
O. R. Davison officiated. Mr. Sloan, a Glendale resident the past two years,
died yesterday, Jan. 14, 1960, in a Phoenix hospital. A native of Champaign,
Illinois, he formerly was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad. Mr. Sloan
is survived by a son, Edward, Van Nuys, California, and two daughters, Rosalie,
Kankakee, Ill., and Martha, Champaign. The AZ Republic January 15, 1960.
