RUBENSTEIN, Harold M.
Harold M. Rubenstein, age 76, passed away at home Thursday, September 23, 2004. He was born in Chicago, IL and has been a resident of the valley for the past 34 years. Harold was a retired scrap dealer and entrepreneur. Survivors include his wife Beverly Rubenstein, sons Ellis Rubenstein and Edward (Janet Landay) Hirsch, daughters Helen (Jerry) Holden and Arlene Hirsch, sister Elaine Wolf, and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 26th at 2:00 p. m. in Sinai Mortuary Chapel, 4538 N. 16th St. in Phoenix. Contributions in his memory are suggested to The King David School, 12753 N. RUBIN, Victor
Victor Rubin, 74, of 2422 E. Cherry Lynn, died Friday, Aug. 25, 1967, in his home in Phoenix. A former reporter for the Milwaukee Journal and the Chicago Herald-Examiner, Mr. Rubin wrote the novel, "Tar and Feathers" an account of his World War I experiences. He served as public relations representative for the Chicago Centery of Progress World's Fair in 1933-34 and later acted as legal research advisor for the Chicago Corporation Council. He retained a lifelong interest in historical affairs and was appointed executive secretary of the American Heritage Countil, an organization formed to promote understanding of U. S. historical documents. After moving to Arizona in 1958, Mr. Rubin taught American Heritage classes at Arizona State University and Phoenix College. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, of Phoenix; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Horn of Chicago; Mrs. Dorothy Thomas of Phoenix and Mrs. Lucille Romanoff of Skokie, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. Sol Zien of Milwaukee; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. RUBIO, Sabino
El Mirage - Sabino Rubio, 68, a section foreman who had been with the Santa Fe Railroad Co. 47 years, died Oct. 9, 1979, in Valley View Hospital. Mrs. Rubio came to Arizona in 1919 and started as a laborer with the railroad in Prescott. He became foreman in 1942 and worked in Williams, Mayer, Aguila and Northwest Phoenix until retiring in 1975. Survivors include his wife, Rosario; children, Irene Gomez, Nellio, Sabino, Jr., Mike, Joe and Ralph; a sister; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mass was in St. Therese Catholic Church, El Mirage. 10 Oct 1979.

RUBUSH, Catherine
Catherine Rubush, 83, of Tempe, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2004. She was born on October 20, 1920 to Maurice and Marie Van Erp in Norwood Park, Illinois. She graduated from Milwaukee State Teacher's College, now the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, and later went on to earn her master's degree in education from Arizona State University. Catherine began her teaching career in Wisconsin, where she taught primary, intermediate, and high school levels. In 1946, Catherine married Leland H. Rubush. Leland and Catherine moved to Tempe, along with their daughter, Roberta, in June of 1954. Catherine taught at the original Kyrene School for sixteen years, and in 1970, she transferred to the new Waggoner Elementary School. She would continue to teach at Waggoner until her retirement in 1983. Catherine was highly recognized by the school district and community for her teaching efforts and was twice the recipient of the Valley Forge Teacher's Medal. After her retirement, she continued to be an active member in Toastmistress and Tempe Woman's Club. She also donated many hours volunteering for Tempe St. Luke's Auxiliary, the Tempe Historical Museum, and the Petersen House. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, and her younger sister, Helen. She is survived by her daughter, Roberta Psarakis, her two grandchildren, Forrest and Rachel Psarakis, and her sister, Elizabeth Lewitzke. Catherine was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be September 1, 2004 at Carr Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, from 5 to 8 p. m. Services will be on September 2, 2004 at University Presbyterian Church, 139 East Alameda Drive, Tempe, at 10:00 a. m. Sun City - Addison E. Ruby, 85, of 10317 Pinehurst Drive, retired superintendent for United State European Dependent Schools in Germany, died December 30, 1981, at Beverly Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Ruby was born in Humbolt, Kansas, and came to Sun City in 1963. He was a member of the United Church of Sun City, the Men's Chorus of Sun City and the Kiwanis Club. Survivors include his wife, Violet; son, Kenneth; a sister and three grandchildren. Services were at Menke Funeral Home, 12420 N. 103rd Ave. Survived by wife, Violet, of Sun City; son, Kenneth A. of Phoenix; sister, Ima WYCOFF of Nebraska and three grandchildren. Barbara Ann Rucket, 68, born on March 28, 1936 passed away on September 26, 2004 in Phoenix. RUDMAN, Francis M.
Sun City - Francis M. Rudman, 71, a retired executive of the Michigan Consolidated Gas Co., died Jan. 29, 1982. Mr. Rudman came here in 1971 from Detroit. He graduated from Purdue University in his native Indiana. Surviving are his wife, Blanche; children, Sharon Dougal, Marcia Stockmeyer, and Mark; eight grandchildren and a brother. Feb. 2, 1982.

Services for Ed Rueb, 71, who died Oct. 5, 1979, in his home at 4131 E. Van Buren, will be 9 a.m. Tuesday in Grimshaw Bloom Chapel, 3800 S. Sun City -- Edwin A. Ruebling, 71, a member of the United Church of Sun City, died Wed., May 17, 1967, in his home. Mr. Ruebling had been comptroller fur Consolidated Retail Stores in St. Louis for 27 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He was born in Augusta, MO. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a daughter, Marilyn, both of Sun City; and two sisters out of state. Cremation followed services at Golden Door Chapel. 5/19/1967.

Sun City - Joseph E. Rush, 69, a supervisor at the Cities Service Oil Co. purchasing department in East Chicago, Indiana, for 40 years, died Oct. 28, 1982, in Valley View Community Hospital in Youngtown. Mr. Rush was born in Harrison, Arkansas, and moved to Sun City in 1975 from Austin, Texas. He was a member of Early Bird Lions Club, Bell Bowling Club and the Sun City lapidary and silvercraft clubs. 31 December 1904 - 18 December 1982 Elvin "Al" L. Rust, 77, a retired senior draftsman for the Arizona Highway Department, died Dec. 18, 1982, in Phoenix Baptist Hospital. Mr. Rust, of 1844 W. Hazelwood, was born in Peru, Indiana, and moved to Phoenix 35 years ago from Chicago. He was a past master of University Lodge and a member of Acacia Lodge of Avondale, past royal patron of Desert Sun Amaranth, past associate guardian of Bethel No. 3 and past grand associate guardian of the State of Arizona for Jobs Daughters. He also had been past patron of the Order of Eastern Star, an officer and senior champion in 1968 of the Greater Phoenix Bowling Association and a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Doris; daughters, Doris Thimlar, Shirley Casbon and Carla Hayes; sons, Edward, Elvin, Jr., Robert, Jeffrey and Timothy; a sister and two brothers; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. RYAN, Timothy James
Timothy James Ryan - March 31, 1939 to September 14, 2004, Timothy James Ryan was born on March 31st, 1939 in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Central High School in Aberdeen, SD in 1957. He then went on to acquire an Associates Degree from Devry Institute in Chicago, IL in 1959. Tim later went on to receive a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in Rapid City, SD in 1969. He married his wife of 40 years, Loretta "Sunny" Ryan on June 6th, 1964 in Miller, SD and worked as an electrical engineer for Honeywell for 32 years before retiring in Phoenix with Sunny. He is survived by Sunny and two children, Thomas John Ryan (Jennifer) of Long Beach, CA and Teri Jo Silbert (Robb) of Cave Creek, AZ, and three grandchildren, Cristina Jo Silbert, Kailin Lynae Silbert, and Zachary Thomas Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Edward Ryan and is survived by his mother, Agnes Mary Ryan of Aberdeen, SD, two sisters, Mary Hofemann of Chicago, IL and Lois Schleder of Columbia, SD, and brother, Jerry Ryan of Aberdeen, SD. Tim and Sunny are members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Phoenix, AZ. His hobbies included building airplane models (member of IPMS) and watching sports. Throughout his life Tim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. The visitation for Tim will be held from 4:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, September 19th at Hansen Chapel (8314 N. Seventh Street, Phoenix, AZ 85020). Funeral Services will be held at Hansen Chapel at 9:00am on Monday, September 20th , followed by the burial ceremony at Holy Redeemer Cemetery (23015 N.
