Mesa - Services for Bernice Libby, 67, who had been a cook in East Valley restaurants after moving here in 1969 from Helena, Montana, were in Desert View Chapel. Mrs. Libby died Oct. 15, 1979, in her home. She was a widow and is survived by a brother. 18 Oct 1979

LIBO, Rudolph
Rudolph Libo, 87, a native of Austria, died Nov. 22, 1982, in Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Libo had been a civil engineer and moved to Phoenix 20 years ago from Kansas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the German-American Club. He served with the Seabees in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Alice; daughters, Marlene Cole, Phoenix, and Donna Griffin, Denver; nine grandchildren and fie great-grandchildren. Grimshaw Bethany Chapel arranged private services. Darrell Liby, 80, who had been a machinist for Goodyear Aerospace, died Aug. 10, 1982, in a Valley nursing home. Mabel E. Liden, 81, died Jan. 24, 1980, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home. Miss Liden came to Phoenix 55 years ago from Nebraska and retired after 25 years with Goldwater stores. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Valley Forge Freedom Foundation, and Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her sister and two brothers. 26 January 1980.

LIDGARD, Clarence Harry
18 July 1907 - 8 May 1967. Apache Junction -- Clarence Harry Lidgard, 59, a member of the First Baptist Church and a past member of the Rotary Club, both in Tempe, died Monday, May 8, 1967, in Mesa Southside Hospital. Mr. Lidgard was born in Star City, IN, and moved to Tempe in 1948 from Plymouth, MI. He owned the Cactus Gardens Trailer Court in Apache Junction. He had operated a motel in Tempe until 1962. Survivors include his wife, Verena; two daughters, Mrs. Carol Shannon of Tempe and Mrs. Kay Thomas of Paradise Valley; two sisters and three brothers, all of Michigan; and eight grandchildren. Burial in East Resthaven Cemetery. 5/10/1967.

LIEBHABER, Anna
Ann Liebhaber, 85, of Phoenix, who was born in Poland and came to Arizona 52 years ago, died Feb. 5, 1982, in a Tucson hospital. Mrs. Liebhaber was a founding member of the Beth El Congregation and was a member of the women's Hadassahs. Survivors include her children, Lillian Baggin, Harry and Milton; two sisters; a brother, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Gravesides services were at Beth El Cemetery, 2300 W. Sun City - Mrs. Martha L. Lietzke, 102, died Thursday, June 6, 1974, in her home at 14238 Sarabande Way. She came to Sun City in 1970 from her native Toledo, Ohio. LIGGETT-CROSS, Patricia Ann
Patricia Ann Liggett-Cross, 70, an Arizona resident for over 50 years, died on September 4, 2004. She was born September 28, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Pat moved to Phoenix after graduating from North High School in Fort Wayne. She graduated from Phoenix College, where she was the homecoming queen and hosted a radio show called "Chit-Chat With Pat". She then attended the University of Arizona, where she earned a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees. She worked for many years as an elementary and special education teacher. She was most currently employed at the Valley of the Sun School and Habilitation Center. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Clara Liggett. She is survived by her son Steven Cross and wife Peggy, daughter Katherine Cross and husband John Mayhew, daughter Carla Clouse and husband Doug, daughter Daphne Collins and husband Alan, son Eric Cross and wife Sherry, and son Fred Cross. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one great-grandson. Pat had a crious mind, loving heart, and a zest for life. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful teacher, advocate, and friend. She will be very much missed, loved, and remembered. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 11, at 10:00 a. m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, on 15th Avenue and Maryland in Phoenix. LIGHT, Dr. Samuel E.
Youngtown -- Dr. Samuel E. Light, 70, a physician who moved here five years ago from Tacoma, WA, died of a heart attack May 4, 1967, in Northwest Hospital. Dr. Light was a veteran of World War I. He attended Omaha Medical School, Nebraska University School of Medicine and studied at the Skin and Cancer Hospital in New York City. He had been a physician 42 years with offices recently in Sun City. He was a member of the United Church of Sun City. He was born in Watseka, IL. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a son, Melvin of Seattle; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Dorfner and Mrs. Pearl Reeve, both of Tacoma, WA; a sister, Mrs. Edith Keller of Phoenix; two other sisters out of state; and six grandchildren. May 5, 1967.

LILLMARS, Doris Marie
Doris Marie Lillmars, 83, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2004 in her home in the presence of those who loved her. Her struggle with osteoporosis and cancer ended and she is now with the Lord and her husband, Gabe, who passed away December 9, 2002. Doris, born in Philadelpha PA, loved the East but faithfully moved to Phoenix in 1960 with Gabe and their 3 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Doris loved people and enjoyed her years working at JC Penney's and Sears. She retired from Sears in 1983 and stayed active in the Retirement Club until her health started to fail. She loved to play bridge and bunko. Doris is survived by her son, Brad (Gloria); 2 daughters: Sharon Pace (David) and Marcia Webster (Bruce); grandchildren: Tarah Bucher (Mike), Melanie Lillmars, Zachary Pace (Becca), Lincoln and Natalie Pace, Lindsey and Ryan Webster and great grandson, Ryan Pace. A Memorial Service will be on September 4, 2004 at 2 pm at Paradise Chapel Funeral Home, 3934 E. Indian School Rd., and interred later with Gabe at the National Cemetery of Arizona. Hazel Luginia Lilly, 83, born September 17, 1920 in Paris Texas and passed away September 7, 2004. Hazel was a longtime resident of Phoenix, moving here in 1927. She was a homemaker and an excellent grandmother; she dearly loved her grandchildren and was very loving, caring, and supportive of them. Her husband Thomas "Hugh" Lilly preceded Hazel in death in January 2004. Carl Lindbloom. 69, who retired in 1972 as west Phoenix district manager of Prudential Life Insurance Co., died March 11, 1980, in Desert Samaritan Hospital Mr. Lindbloom came to Phoenix in 1947 and upon retiring moved to 9104 Citrus Lane, Sun Lakes. LISZEWSKI, Leonard Lawrence
13 April 1922 - 26 March 1980 Leonard Lawrence Liszewski, 57, who owned Viking Precision, Inc., a Phoenix sheet metal firm, died March 26, 1980. He was involved in the restoration of the original Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in downtown Tempe. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and exalted ruler-elect of Tempe Elks Lodge. He moved here in 1970 and worked in real estate sales a year. LITTLE, Nellie Mae
Nellie Mae Little, formerly Nellie Mae Owsley, passed away September 18, 2004 at age 85. She was born February 22, 1919 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Nellie came to Arizona in 1947 with her husband Samuel Everett Owsley. It is here in Arizona where Nellie lovingly raised her three sons, John, Bill and Ray Owsley. Her sons were the light of her life and the source of great pride to Nellie. She enjoyed camping and fishing, tending to her garden, and cooking large, wonderful meals, which her whole family enjoyed on Sunday afternoons. She retired from the Broadway department store at Biltmore Fashion Park where she worked in women's fine dresses. Nellie loved spending time with the ladies of her congregation at Heritage Presbyterian, preparing potlucks and playing games. Nellie was a loving and exceptional grandmother to twelve grandchildren, Bill, Tom, Kim, Brandon, Matt, Brooke, Don, Nicole, Carlie, Jennifer, Samara & Madison; great-grandmother to fifteen great-grandchildren and mother-in-law to Laura, Diane and Sharon, all of which adored and cherished her. All who knew her were blessed to have her gentle and loving spirit in their lives. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Everett Owsley, brother Frank Garrison and sisters Dorothy Newman and Blanche Gross. And a special thanks to all those at Boone Adult Care who so lovingly cared for Nell her last few months. The visitation will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 5-8 PM at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 6830 West Thunderbird Road.
