DABB, William R.
William R. Dabb, Retired Cartwright School Superintendent William R. Dabb, 67, passed away on September 16, 2004 in Phoenix. Dabb, who was All Arizona Superintendent in 1991 was instrumental in bringing public schools to be proactive on legislative issues affecting children and education. He served two terms as president of Arizona School Administrators, the statewide professional association. He received the Westmarc Humanitarian Award in 1993. As Superintendent of the then-18 school elementary district, Dabb initiated student academic incentive programs, after school tutoring and the largest Head Start program in the state. Under his tenure Cartwright had three schools named among the top in the state by the Arizona Department of Education. Dabb served as Superintendent from 1978 - 1996. Dr. Dabb was highly regarded as an educator and champion of teachers and staff. His love for children and education carried forward in his retirement as he continued to support children of low income families through financial assistance and mentoring. His efforts kept many children in school and working to fulfill their potential. Bill Dabb had a great heart and always worked for the underdog. He greatly impacted the lives of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a person who truly made a difference and left the world a better place because he was here. Born in Knoxville, Iowa, Dabb is survived by his only child, Marcy Dabb McCauley; son-in-law Kevin and three grandchildren all living in Washington; and a brother and sister in Iowa. His extended family includes devoted friends from Iowa, Arizona and his apartment complex in North Phoenix. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p. m. Thursday, September 23, 2004 at the Elks Lodge #335, 14424 North 32nd Street, Phoenix 85032. Jean Dad, Age 75, of Glendale, Arizona passed away September 28, 2004. Jean was native Arizonan, and spent many years as an elementary school teacher. Jean will be remembered as an avid Sun Devil fan, and beloved mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She is survived by a large and loving family, who will miss her dearly. Sherwood H. Daggett, 80, of Sun City, died Feb. 13, 1994. He was a retired U. S. Air Force master sergeant and was born in Minneapolis. DAGGS, Jennie M.
Goodyear -- Jennie M. Daggs, 77, a native of Flagstaff and a pioneer school teacher, died Tues., Sept. 26, 1967, in Phoenix General Hospital. Miss Daggs started teaching when she was 20 and retired in 1955. She taught many years in the Adams School in Phoenix. Her late father, J. F. DAGGS, had been a sheep rancher in Flagstaff. DAHL, Elmer T.
Elmer T. Dahl, 64, who was born in Rochester, Minnesota, and retired as a purchasing agent for a utilities company before moving here six years ago, died Jan. 29, 1982, in John C. Lincoln Hospital. Mr. Dahl, of Phoenix, was awarded the Purple Heart while serving with the Army in World War II and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. He is survived by his wife, Esther; children, Jane Couvdos and Richard; three grandchildren, Nicole, Dhyana, and Jonathan; and three brothers, Reuben, Sioux Falls, SD, Frank, Rochester, MN, and Clarance, Anaconda, MT. Sun City - Rudolph S. Dahl, 81, died Thursday. June 27, 1974, in Valley View Community Hospital at Youngtown. He worked 35 years as an administrator and distributor for Ford Motor Co. in Minneapolis, MN. He moved to Prescott in 1957 and worked for Al Crawford Motors and moved to Sun City six years later. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He is the father of actress, Arlene Dahl Schaum. DALRYMPLE, Margaret
Margaret "Peg" Dalrymple died quickly and quietly at her home at age 77, Saturday, September 11, 2004. Born January 25, 1927, in Des Moines, Iowa, as Margaret Evelyn Basart, she devoted her life to her family, instilling strong moral beliefs in her children. She was a gifted artist whose paintings were displayed on magazine covers, winning awards at art fairs, and was a member of the Madison Art Guild. She appeared in the Madison newspaper with the Nativity set she created and was known to even paint saw blades and motorcycle helmets upon request. She would work late into the night typing papers for UW professors to help support her family, as well as caring for her family at home. Mom was an avid lover of the outdoors and nature, and well read on many topics. Her education continued throughout her life, including a course at a local community college when she was more than 70 years of age. She is survived by her adored husband of 58 years, Elmer Joseph "Dal" Dalrymple; her brother, Larry Basart of Apache Junction; and her beloved children; Jim Dalrymple of Fitchburg, Karen (Chick) Larson of Middleton, and Eric (Lori) Dalrymple of Middleton; and her foster son Greg (Jane) Bailey of Niceville, Florida; 8 grandchildren; Michael (Angie), Randy, Pamela, and Kristopher Larson, Jordan and Tucker Dalrymple, Michael and David Bailey; and 2 great grandchildren; Eden and Chloe Larson. Her son, Steven Dalrymple, preceded her in death. Peg and Dal raised two sons with juvenile diabetes and would appreciate any donations made on her behalf to the American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. In keeping with her belief in the circle of life, only hours after she passed from us, her second great granddaughter was born. Peg will be cremated and her soul set free. DANCER, Chase Parker
Chase Parker Dancer, age 13, passed away suddenly at home in Scottsdale on September 25. Chase was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church and in 8th grade at Mountain Side Middle School in Scottsdale. He was active in church, baseball, football and school band. His favorite pastimes were his many friends, Play Station 2, skate boarding, golf, visiting Iowa, and playing his guitar. Chase had a fun-loving and caring personality and touched many. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Chase was born June 18, 1991, in Phoenix to Jerry and Traci Dancer. He is survived by his mother, Traci, father, Jerry, step-mother, Mary, sisters, Alexandria and Sydney all of Scottsdale, sister Kacey and husband Jason Droz, sister, Taylor, all of Phoenix and brother, Dustin of Sheridan, Wyoming, step-brother Greg Burchett of Dothan, Alabama, grandparents Martin and Carolyn Shook of Bloomfield, Iowa, Jerry and Della Dancer of Longview, Texas, Uncle Troy Shook of Costa Mesa, CA, Aunt Cathy Wilabay and David of Tyler, Texas, step-grandparents Joseph and Veronica Banchy of Tucson, and godmother Dolly Monroe of Paradise Valley. A 13-month-old boy and a 55-year-old Phoenix woman died over the weekend at Maricopa County Hospital's burn unit from injuries received earlier in separate fires. Robin Boyce died March 1, 1970, from injuries received in a fire Feb. 26 at his grandparents' home at 3736 E. Polk. Police said the fire also claimed the life of his twin brother, Robert. Mrs. Mary Darling, 55, of 5539 W. State, died Sat., Feb. 28, 1970, of injuries she received Feb. 23 in a fire at her home. Police said Mrs. Darling had received second and third degree burns over her entire body when her robe caught fire as she backed into a heater. Interment Resthaven Park. 3/2/1970.

DAVISON, Russell
Russell J. Davison, 63, formerly of Kenosha, late of Scottsdale, AZ, passed away on Friday (September 17th, 2004) at the home of his sister after a long battle with cancer. Before his illness, he resided with his best friend, Vic Szarka and his wife Lorraine Szarka. Born on March 25th, 1941 in Kenosha, he was the son of Russell H. and Esther C. (Kreuser) Davison. He received his education in the schools of Kenosha. On March 10th, 1965, he married Jeanie Neu. They later divorced. He was last employed with his longtime friend, Vic Szarka in Scottsdale, AZ, by Cold Blue Refrigeration. He previously worked for John Mansville in Waukegan, IL and Montgomery Ward in the Service Department. He also served as a cook for the VFW, The Rusty Spur, Sugars, The Chicago Bar, The Piano Bar, The Outrider and other Scottsdale establishments for 22 years. He enjoyed watching the Packers with family and friends, horses, shooting pool, fishing, hunting and loved the desert. He was a honorary member of VFW Post 3513. He was known to love life and hated to see anybody do without. He is survived by his four children; Russell J.
