CELAYA, Jonathan Michael
Jonathan Michael Celaya died peacefully in his sleep on September 16, 2004. Jonathan was born on April 3, 1992 in Cottonwood Arizona. He is survived by his parents, Kara L. Lewis and Frank A. Celaya III, his birth mother Barbara Goehring, his brother, Christopher Celaya, sister, Kaylee Celaya, birth grandmother Gertrude Mayne, Grandfather Delbert Lewis, and Grandparents, Art and Connie Celaya, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Jonathan was an extremely happy, giving, compassionate young boy, who loved being with friends and family. Jonathan always aimed to please. He was a wonderful son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin. Jonathan would always think of others and loved giving gifts to his friends and family. His selflessness and innocence reflect on how he lived life to the fullest. Jonathan had a love for trains, video games, and riding his bike. Jonathan touched the lives of everyone he knew. His warm smile and joyful spirit will be missed. His family and friends are blessed and thankful for the twelve years we spent with him. Jonathan's spirit and memories will always be with us. God Bless you Jonathan. We love you very much. Jonathan's life will be celebrated on Monday, April 20, at 10am, at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S. 48th Street in Ahwatukee. CERBIN, Jacquelyn Dee
Jacquelyn Dee Cerbin, 76, of Overgaard passed away September 5, 2004 at Navapache Regional Medical Center in Show Low, AZ. She was born in Sanger, CA, 1927 on the family ranch. Her family was a pioneer family of that area. She attended grade school & high school in Sanger, and later attended Fresno State University & Chapman College, graduating with a degree in education in 1950. Jacquelyn married her childhood sweetheart, Dwaine Cerbin on August 11, 1949. She specialized in Pre-School Education and would later teach Pre-School Education at the college level. Jacquelyn and Dwaine worked hand in hand building the East Mesa Christian Church. She has also previously served Burbank Christian Church, South Bay Christian Church in Redondo Beach, & First Christian Church in Orange, CA. Jacquelyn retired to Overgaard to a cabin she and Dwaine built with family & friends in 1990. She was a member of The Sun Valley Chorale; Volunteer for the Overgaard Chamber of Commerce, President of Christian Women's Fellowship of Arizona. Jacquelyn was an avid reader and t-shirt collector. Jacquelyn is survived by her husband, Dwaine E. Cerbin of Overgaard, AZ; daughters, Jennie Cerbin of Kayenta, AZ, Bonnie Holt of Venicia, CA; 1 son, David Cerbin of Memphis, TN; 6 grandchildren, & 8 great grandchildren. CHAMBERLAIN, Cletus O.
Cletus O. Chamberlain, 52, who had been in the oil distributing business here 25 years and formerly owned the Mesa Oil Co., died Tuesday of a heart attack at his home, 9001 N. 18th Drive. Mr. Chamberlain was born in St. Johns and had resided in Phoenix the past 40 years. After serving in the Army engineers in World War II he established the Mesa Oil Co. in Phoenix and owned the Malco, Moco and Martin gas stations here. His World War II service in the Pacific included five major battles. He was a member of Arizona Masonic Lodge 2. Services will be tomorrow in Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St. Friends may call there today. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Jimmy was born April 6, 1932, in Dubois, Idaho to William Henry & Sarah Zweifel Chandler. He was the 12th child and 6th son. He conquered obstacles in his youth and subsequently developed a positive attitude that remained with him throughout his life. Jimmy often stated his greatest blessing was his "wonderful family. " He was a loyal employee and worked hard in everything he did. Jimmy was a devoted husband, beloved father, and adored grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Leenita Janiece Sego, 11 children, Valorie Hansen (Scott), Becky Gardner (Tim), Brian (Tami), Doug (Amy), Jon (Jenny), Jeff (Melanie), Nancy Hineman (Dustin), James (Melissa), Brad (Dawnett), Craig (Heather), Kevin (Linda), and also 42 grandchildren. CHANDLER, Martha J.
Martha Jane Chandler, 73, died April 10, 2011, at Bisbee Copper Queen Hospital. Martha was born March 23, 1938, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Andrew (Jack) Jackson Squire and Lula M. Squire. She Attended Riverside Elementary, Phoenix Union High School and obtained a degree in English and history from Grand Canyon College. She became a school teacher and taught school all over Arizona. She then started a career in tax preparation and became a tax consultant. Jane had deep roots in Southeastern Arizona as she spent many summers at her family's ranch in Paul Spur, outside of Douglas, Ariz., while growing up. When she decided to open a tax preparation business, she naturally returned to the area she loved and opened in Bisbee in 1986. She was a small business owner in Bisbee, Sierra Vista, Douglas and Laveen, Ariz. Helping people became her greatest passion until the day she passed. Martha is survived by her husband, James D. Chandler; daughters, Jackee Lu Chandler and Jane Marie (Bridgette) Broyles; and grandson, Joshua E. Broyles. Visitation and services were at A.L. Moore Grimshaw, 710 West Bethany Home Road, Phoenix. CHAPPLE, James Stephen
James Stephen Chapple, 37, of Chandler, AZ was born on Sept. 14, 1969. His death came unexpectedly on Jan 13, 2007 in Oregon. James spent his early childhood in Huntington Beach, California, and moved to Snowflake, Arizona, with his family when he was 6 years old. James received his Eagle Scout award at age 13, graduated from Snowflake High School in 1987 and served a mission for the LDS Church to Washington, DC North Mission from 1988-1990. He attended BYU and in Dec 1992 he married Shirley ALLEN of Burley, Idaho in the Mesa AZ Temple. James graduated in 1995 with a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering and accepted a position with Intel Corporation where he worked as a computer Chip Set Architect. He continued his education receiving a High Technology MBA with ASU. He was a loving father and husband, son, devoted brother, cousin, mentor and friend. All who knew him, loved him and he will be greatly missed and forever remembered. CHARLEBOIS, Martin B.
Martin B. Charlebois, 86, of Phoenix, died on September 7, 2004. He was born in Prescott and grew up in Phoenix. He attended St. Mary's and Brophy Prep in Phoenix and Regis College in Denver. Martin served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific theater having earned a Purple Heart. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a locomotive engineer for 41 years until retiring. Martin was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1189. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Irene, of 43 years. CHESHIRE, Claude C.
Claude C. Cheshire, 71, widely known Flagstaff business man and former mayor of Nogales, died Friday night, January 29, 1960, while vacationing in Phoenix. He was 71. Mr. Cheshire suffered an apparent heart attack while dining with friends at a restaurant. He died 15 minutes later. Born in Oregon, Mr. Cheshire moved to Nogales and opened an automobile agency in 1924. He served as Nogales mayor from 1937 to 1939. Mr. Cheshire sold his agency to his brother, Roy, in 1940 and moved to Flagstaff. He operated an agency in Flagstaff and Williams until his death. He was active in civic affairs in both Nogales and Flagstaff. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. CHURCH, Joyce Marguerite
Joyce Marguerite Church, age 86, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Banner Desert Hospital in Mesa. Joyce taught ninth grade English for many years at Mesa Junior High School. Joyce loved her job. She was proud to have contributed to the educational advancement of several generations of Mesa students. Joyce was born on a farm near Ackley, Iowa to Arthur and Sophie Jansonius. She had one brother Calvin and a sister Gloria, now Gloria Martin. Both her brother and sister survive her. Her extended family was large and close-knit. In 1944 she married Thomas Church, who died in 1979. They have one daughter Ardith. The family moved to Mesa in 1961. Ardith now lives in Michigan with her husband Philip Shishmian. Joyce is also survived by a cousin Sharon Harkins of Chandler who was a great help to her in her later years. Joyce received her Bachelor of Arts in Education degree from Northern Iowa University in Cedar Falls and her Master of Arts in Education degree from Arizona State University. She taught for a total of forty-eight years, starting with elementary grades and then switching to junior high. She retired in 1989. After her retirement Joyce kept busy with club and church activities. She also gave slide presentations at area senior centers sharing her experiences on her extensive travels throughout the world. Joyce had considerable musical talent. She played the piano and the clarinet. She also spent many years playing English handbells at First United Methodist Church of Mesa. Her life was very much one of service to the community. She will be greatly missed. A graveside service was held at the City of Mesa Cemetery 1212 N. Center St. in Mesa. CLEMENT, Russell C.
Russell C. Clement, 82, retired national sales manager with Pennwalt, Inc., in New Jersey, died Nov. 25, 1982, at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Mr. Clement was born in Troy, N.Y. and moved to Arizona from New Jersey in 1965. He served in the Army Signal Corps during World War I. Scottsdale - Harry C. Cliff, 69, who retired as an engineer after 43 years with Mountain Bell, died Oct. 3, 1980. He was born in Denver and was a member of the Masons in Colorado. Edna F. Cline, 71, who was born in Phoenix and was a member of Phoenix Central Christian Church, Laurel Chapter of Eastern Star and Postal Supervisors Assn Auxiliary, died Oct. 10, 1979. Mrs. Cline had been a legal secretary 25 years for the firm of Twitty, Stevwright & Mills until retiring 10 years ago. 27 July 1910 - 10 March 1980 Fern R. Close, 69, who came here in 1969 from Missouri, died March 10, 1980, in Beverly Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Close was a certified public accountant 30 years in Kansas City, MO. She graduated from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, MO, and was a past president of the American Society of Women Accountants. She was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church and the Altruss Club. Her mother, Eva G. Reed, survives. Services were in Sedalia, Missouri. 3/15/1980.

CLOUSER, Ned E.
Ned E. Clouser passed away on September 9, 2004 in Phoenix. Ned was born on October 17, 1922. He was the eldest of six children. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Naval Reserves for 22 years. He moved his family to Phoenix in 1961. Ned retired from Hartford Insurance in 1986 and spent his retirement traveling with his wife, Elaine. He is survived by his wife Elaine of 59 years; daughters, Karen Bell and Kathy Sloan; son, Ken; their spouses, and 4 grandchildren.
